Xiamara – Clash of Knights Stag Family (Empires & Puzzles)

Xiamara Empires and Puzzles Hero Card

Xiamara is a new Empires and Puzzles’ Clash of Knights Hero, and a member of the Stag Family. But the reason I’ve called you in today is to discuss the full-steam Freight Train of pain this one brings to the battlefield.

In testing, I sat her next to the hotly-anticipated HotM Neema and can tell you, it was crazy to see the difference in payload.

Xiamara is a ticking time bomb of destruction, as I hope to illustrate.

If you’re interested, I covered all of the new Clash of Knights Heroes, over here (Beta).

Before we get started, a quick update on the Think Tank.

I have now officially formed the group, and will begin updating the Hero Ranking Page momentarily.

Any changes or new grades will also be tracked on the Blog Log.

OK, let’s get on with it!

Chasing Xiamara’s Big Bang! (Empires and Puzzles)

I’ve got an addictive personality and always have. It’s a risky thing to manage.

For that reason, I’ve never tried hardcore drugs. -I simply wouldn’t make it.

That’s exactly why the strong pain pills that were supposed to help me sleep following my Wisdom Tooth removal, stayed in their container.

Can’t risk it! -I know me.

And so when I tested Xiamara, it was unsettling to feel those unhealthy urges arising;

I would sacrifice any Hero just to see how far I could push her, chasing that next superduper damage stat. And when she’d hit again, I’d catch myself smirking like I had just found someone’s bag of marbles in the playground at playtime. ~Looking over my shoulder to see if anyone noticed.

The devil was on my shoulder and dopamine was bursting into my system like a lemon drop after a week of Keto.

I was a man possessed!

Xiamara is a monster with a tremendous ability to inflict pain.

She’s a bad Woman!

Xiamara Vs. The Hitters of Empires and Puzzles

Before the table, here’s the thing, I was getting some crazy numbers out of Xiamara in Beta, which is why I wanted to write this review.

When Xiamara first appeared in Beta the Special called for a +100% increase in power, followed by +50% (not the +25% we have now), and with a max-total of +300% (opposed to the +200% we have now).

Here are some figures from my Beta test. Bear in mind, this is with Xiamara maxed with Limit Break 2 and Troops etc.

Xiamara’s first hit: 754, 603, 597, 584, 635

Xiamara’s second hit: 1241, RIP, 1123, 992, 1159 (after 2 turns at +50% = +200%)

So these numbers should represent the approximate hit value today if you allowed Xiamara to collect the +25% Power for 4 turns.

Onto the Table…

Thanks, Tobov!

Brimstone is devastating. Every time he fires up his Construct Core, my Heroes get to journeying towards the light.

Some other notable Heroes here, but look at Xiamara!

Xiamara’s Mana Corruption (Empires and Puzzles)

Xiamara is not only a damage inflicter, she also has a powerful Secondary.

Albeit, it’s situational; Mana Punishment.

This part of the Special is incredibly wordy and isn’t easy to quickly understand. I guess bullet points might help.

So, for 4 turns All enemies receive “Mana Corruption” where if they receive mana from an “additional source”, they receive 250 damage.

What’s an additional source?

  1. Direct Mana addition from Special Skills,
  2. Status Effects,
  3. Level Properties,
  4. Passive Skills,
  5. Family Effects,
  6. Tile Effects,
  7. and Minions.
  8. Or additional Mana gained from a Mana generation Buff or Positive Mana Generation Stack.

Most of us will be concerned for our Heroes who provide mana in some way and that’s a lot of Heroes!

-So this could be a real pain to deal with.

But again, Xiamara is so heavy-handed that it will be hard to monitor and manage this Secondary when you’re already nursing a busted-up head.

You’ll be too busy trying to stop her from working up into a frenzy again.

And the rest of her build protects her! From her Aether Power which grants immunity to new Status Ailments for 6 turns, to her Family Bonus that increases her Attack when you try to reduce it!

Xiamara (Empires and Puzzles)

My final thoughts:

Xiamara acts like Quenell’s bigger, and more violent, sister.

And I must admit, it’s getting wild out here. It’s proper Land of the Giants at the mo.

Just the other day, a death squad of Raiders turned up at my Watchtower and some of my team actually greeted them with a notepad and pen in hand, trying to take meal orders and get them seated. These chumps were trying to hand over my Trophy Cups in doggy bags!

Despite this, my Raid Squad, fighting tooth and nail, somehow managed to claw us above 3K Cups!

Malosi was celebrating like we had achieved something momentous. He already had the Champagne and Ski Goggles out before I could stop him.

I mean, what can you say?

I put on the Goggles and took a sip.

Hero Grade for Xiamara

So for my grading, the question is:

Is this Hero’s Special capable of/likely to change the outcome of a battle? Yes.

If not, do they still bring enough to the party to help defeat the deities? N/a.

  1. I assume, based on the way Quenell works (which is the same wording), that Xiamara’s special gets an initial boost of +100% for the next cast (putting it at 400% damage), and then +25% per turn, maxing out at a total of +200% boost, for a total of 500% damage, rather than the 600% (is this still from Beta?) you have listed. The wording on your chart is also a bit confusing as it seems to be implying that the +100% boost immediately doubles the damage to 600% (which would then increase further each turn?), which I don’t think is the case, again based on Quenell.
But perhaps I am just reading your chart wrong?

    1. Hi Maraj, thank you for this. You are right. It caused me to go back and re-analyse what I was looking at and it was the +50% earlier bata version that was catching me.

Thank you for taking the time, my mistake. I have now updated this post.

  2. Thanks for the review OC. I’m excited that your think tank is up and running. It will be super helpful to see updated rankings/hero ratings. I’m new enough still and rely on your ratings enough that I figured my best role was subscribing audience and not active participant. I was tempted though.

Speaking of temptation, which you covered well in your heroes review, I splurged a bit and paid for some summoning tokens. Lady luck was with me tonight and I got Xiamara AND Lysanor back to back! My good luck has left me short on ascencion mats and aethers, but that is a nice problem to have! Best of luck to you!

    1. Hey Gabrielle, I’m really grateful to the players that volunteered and look forward to updating the Ranking Page. It will be a slow process but hopefully it will start to look more refined and better reflect the current meta!

Congrats on the heroes 🥳, Lysanor looks awesome. All of the new Clash heroes are pretty cool… I did a lot of testing with Torben, he is very cool and powerful. But Xiamara is a true, trying to kill All, monster.

  3. Was lucky enough to get this beauty (full disclosure, did 69 pulls). Some saved coins, some new coins, some saved gems.

She looks like a monster, and she will be devastating against teams with hippo and myoin. With mana corruption every tile does 250 extra damage!

It seems to me that they have focused on making average heroes stronger to reduce focus on fast and speed (but then again, Torben is a murderer).
    Looking forward to test her!

    1. Torben is fantastic. When I tested him, the target was nearly killed on that strike (because he was hitting early with full health most of the time).

Interestingly, if you hit Torben with Torben, his family bonus will replace the reduced -Defense with +Defense. (At least, based on my beta footage).

Then when Xiamara fired, she’d finish the target and do significant damage to the rest. Both great heroes!

I agree re the Average heroes; it was a matter of time because they have a legacy of being generally proportionally weaker than Fast.

      Congrats! 🎉

  4. One of my Alliance members got her. They have one of the strongest rosters in our Alliance (LB2 Aramis, LB2 C. BK and LB2 Anne, among others), so she will be a powerful addition.

Mana Corruption seems like bad news for the Bard Family, since the Family bonus gives a passive +5% mana gen to all solo members, which I assume is treated like a mana generation buff.

The only thing I can think of that might stop Xiamara for a while is Mindless Attack *after* her Aether Power has worn off or is dispelled. Her MA might even be stronger if she’s already fired once.

  5. I play this game to a ridiculous extent so I really appreciate all the hard work you put into this game! I was even contemplating signing up for the hero ranking, but I definitely do not have a way with words like you do with your reviews. I currently have 15 hero’s at level 90 and another 42 at level 85. I did a 10 pull last night and got Xiamara and Lysanor. Xiamara definitely seems over powered and I fear she will be nerfed in the near future, but for now I am going to hammer everything into her for my top line green. Lysanor definitely seems worth maxing out as well for my third line. Is it just me, or are they shifting the hero powers at a ridiculous rate? Hero’s from a year ago seem to be a joke compared to almost every new hero they put out.

    1. Congrats 🥳 Mill, she hits for 2 is the best way to describe her. I don’t think they’ll nerf, after all, they know what they’re doing. Lots of these newer heroes are massively powerful but that’s the point and what makes them so attractive.

Of course, that don’t mean they won’t!

Have fun and thanks for the support!
