Brimstone The Broken, AKA The Melter Of HP (Empires & Puzzles)

Brimstone Empires and Puzzles Hero Card

Brimstone is terrorizing Heroes on the daily and something needs to be said! Empires and Puzzles just let this lava-filled freak out of his box and now he’s fronting like it’s the Apocalypse and time to put on a show.

But I rebuke that nonsense!

That said, I’ll warn you now, -I’m busy with other things today. I don’t have the time to tell you all about how Malosi was startled when he first encountered Brimstone.

How he was busy counting how many “Mississippis” he could get in before a Luna Beam struck again when POW! He was lying on his side and asking for teddy.

I got things to do!

Brimstone – Empires and Puzzles

Brimstone; The Living Nightmare (Empires and Puzzles)

Brimstone has been running Amok for too long!

You know, when I logged onto my computer today, it asked me if I wanted to use “Face Authentication” in future.

Why do these guys want to know sooooo much about me?

Why would I want to give a face bio to tap-a-rap-tap on a bloody keyboard?!

Why stop there, how about a vial of blood every time I log in?

I didn’t go for the Fingerprint Capture so why would I go for the Mugshot?

I digress!

Brimstone was my first suggestion for Deity: Tier 3 in my new Think Tank, under the assumption that I wouldn’t get around to reviewing him.

But I figured, as long as I kept to the point and didn’t waffle too much, I’d bang this out in a couple of hours!

Brimstone Vs. The Hitters of Empires and Puzzles

My Point:

I suspect Brimstone hits harder than any other All-Hitting Average Hitter in the game. Including the new monster Xiamara.

Here are Xiamara’s damage numbers from my Beta testing (which was LB2):

Xiamara’s first hit: 754, 603, 597, 584, 635

Xiamara Empires and Puzzles Hero Card

And here are Brimstone’s numbers from my in-game Raid testing (also LB2):

Brimstone’s Special Skill hit: 0 (Evade talent), 412, 402, 443, 477

Brimstone’s Core hit: 736, 583, 578, 657, 706

Brimstone’s Total: 736, 995, 980, 1100, 1183

That’s more than Anne’s first hit.

Hell, that’s more than Khufu!

Khufu’s hit: 971, 704, 823, 867, 964

How is he achieving this level of damage?

It’s due to the flow of his Special Skills:

  • First, his Special Skill fires off inflicting 200% damage to all enemies, and in the ensuing chaos, he drops off his Fiends
  • Then, his Fiends attach -54% Defense against Fire (Brimstone’s Element)
  • Next, the Core erupts for 180% damage to all enemies (if fully charged)
  • And finally, due to the already compromised Defense Status of your Heroes… they d.i.e. 😢

Qualification: There are other variables at play here, things like Troops, Hero Stats, and the Construct Core charge percentage.

Thanks, Tobov!

Altogether, Brimstone is simply devastating.

Brimstone (Empires and Puzzles)

My final thoughts:

There are more and more monster Hitters appearing in Empires and Puzzles and with the addition of Aether Powers, some are frustratingly difficult to manage.

Brimstone is especially interesting because his Hero Card reads like a casual stroll through the park, when in fact, facing him is more like being dragged through the park by your hair.

😊 My thoughts are warm and wholesome.

And we haven’t even mentioned his Titan prowess.

-He’s so strong that he’s considered a Titan Specialist… all the while, he’s also shockingly efficient at destroying Heroes.

Remember to cover your eyes when he fires off.

Now, time to peel off the sticker I put over the camera so I can set up this “Face Authentication” thingy…

Hero Grade for Brimstone

So for my grading, the question is:

Is this Hero’s Special capable of/likely to change the outcome of a battle? Yes.

If not, do they still bring enough to the party to help defeat the deities? N/a.

Old Cynic’s Hero Grade: Deity ⭐⭐⭐

  1. Everyone in the top 20 (raid leaderboard) pretty much has the same lineup. It’s become boring to look at… My best placing was 30-32 on the global raid list and I did this without any of the top current performers. I joined the game and my first and only team in Dec ‘21 and back then, the line up was way more interesting 😢 When I usually face Brimstone, he’s not my main concern. I ghost the healer and use counterattack. They pretty much end up taking themselves out if they have the usual suspects lol.

    1. Hey Tima, thanks for sharing. The game has come a long way. When you’re facing a top team now there are numerous problems to manage. But this guy hitting like an old sniper, but to all, is deffo one for me.

      Thanks again for stopping by!

  2. The most valuable part of Brimstone for me is the permanent EDD he brings against the Titan. Saves me so much in resources being that I don’t have to worry about reapplying his ailment every 3-5 turns. Less time wasted on Super Mana Potion applications 2-3 times per Titan.

Beyond that, I haven’t prioritized him for Raid-type attacks. I use a Rainbow offense and defense with Xiaotu as the Fire staple to shut down all [non-steroidal] minions.

In War, I look forward to using him with Serendite. If they both pop at the same time, Serandite gives the second charge attack that brings the match very close to the end.

  3. Thanks OC, I have been unable to do final levelling up of Brimstone due to lack of materials but having read this, I will spend some money and get on it!

I can’t wait to for the slaughter to start!

    1. Hey Steve, congrats on having him! Surely the mats will come in time, it must be expensive trying to buy mats, right? I never want to encourage spending. Good luck!

  4. I want to make a wrestling reference.
Do you remember when Kane was out a couple of months and then he came back? Lights out, then his explosion and 1 minute later, he was standing surrounded by bodies.
    Just like this guy.

  5. OC, I suspect the Ferrus is right up there with Brimstone, simply because they have a similar mechanic, being from the same family. He does not have fiends, but he not only adds direct damage, core damage, but also poison damage. He is by far my most devastating hitter, and I have a fairly robust roster.

  6. You validated me OC!!! That’s sounds weird, but…. I pulled Brimstone a while back and was initially psyched, until I found you hadn’t critiqued him yet. I thought to myself, “hey self, if OC hasn’t rated him, he must be a bum…” However, I didn’t have a lot of red heroes at the time so I rolled the dice. Gotta say, he has been a beast for me. Thanks for validating!

  7. I’ve been lucky to pull both Xiamara and Brimstone, and now I’m trying to decide who gets LB2 first. Do you feel one of them benefits more than the other from the LB2? In other words, which one would you choose to give the alpha aethers to?

    1. 😁 The answer is both. Great problem to have. In reality, your roster and playstyle are relevant. Xiamara offers the most security and the ridiculous 2nd attack. She does look appealing. But both carry the same hero grade here!
