Faiez Review – Empires and Puzzles (Season 5)

Faiez Empires and Puzzles Hero Card

Faiez is a new 3-Star Hero from Season 5, Empires and Puzzles. -I’ll admit, I pushed some resources his way because he looked like a star. Now I’m getting a proper chance to play him, in this current 3-Star Buff Booster tournament, and I’m really excited to share the results.

How Good is Faiez? (Empires and Puzzles)

First off, Faiez isn’t OP in the slightest, in fact, he’s amazing because he helps us deal with some of the very strong Heroes in Empires and Puzzles.

And that’s exactly why I want to share what I’m seeing.

While I love 3-Star tournaments, I haven’t been faring as well since the introduction of some of the real big heavy hitters. And Treevil sits at the top of that list.

However, in this current tourney, and with the inclusion of Faiez, all of a sudden, I’m doing better.

Simply because, if Faiez manages to fire off, he protects the entire team from all status ailments, rendering the likes of Treevil, Costumed Gunner, and a bunch of other Heroes, moot.

And even more, he protects your team against Kvasir’s menacing decree, that thou shalt not receive any new minions once his minions have stung you.

And even more… Faiez gives all allies +30% defense for 4 turns, and since they’re also immune to new status ailments, you can’t override it with Defense-Down.

Oh, and lest we forget, this guy’s passive is awesome;

  • A 70% chance to boost all allies by 10% Boosted Health, and also Cleanse the latest Cleansable ailment.

More good stuff?

Yep, he’s also Cleric Class, -so has a +35% chance to resist negative mana effects.

Faiez Vs. Treevil (Empires and Puzzles)

I don’t plan on jabbering, I just want to highlight a decent Hero who may be sitting on your bench. Or maybe, like me, you’ve had the opportunity to level him up, and now you’re drawing many of the same conclusions?

If Faiez does have a weakness, it’s his speed.

But when your main nemesis is Treevil, Slow’s actually OK.

Treevil, as we know, reaches his crescendo at Very Slow. So, there’s a very good chance that Faiez is already body-popping by the time Treevil’s getting his Thriller shimmy locked in.

The following table shows what Treevil does, Vs. the Faiez counter (re-counter, anticipated preparedness, fortification, bracing):

HeroMana SpeedDamage/HealthAilments
Very Slow (13.5 tiles)Deals 280% damage to all enemiesAll enemies get -34% attack, -34% defense, and -34% mana gen for 6 turns

Is Faiez Worth It? (Empires and Puzzles)

Yes, even at slow, he’s awesome.

I’ve found Faiez to be universally useful against other 3-Star Heroes.

He’s not like Bertulf, in that I don’t see much use for Faiez outside of the 3 or 4-Star realm.

However, you’ll be surprised at just how clean he keeps your team.

That 70% Passive (Boosted health and Cleanse) could wash away any stains which appear before his Special, and his immunity buff will keep ’em clean for a long time afterwards.

Faiez Review (Empires and Puzzles)

My final thoughts:

I happened to pull Faiez alongside Rekhetre (a similar Season 5, 3-Star Over-healer), however, decided to level Faiez first.

Even though Rekhetre is an Average speed Hero, who heals for more overall (360 HP), I couldn’t help but feel Faiez was the better proposition. And now I feel a little chuffed with what I’ve got.

That said, I’m still expecting a tough time with the rest of the tournament, but without Faiez, I’d probably be out already… or hanging on by a thread.

Have you pulled him, or faced him? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!

Hero Grade for Faiez (Empires and Puzzles)

So for my grading, the question is:

Is this Hero’s Special capable of/likely to change the outcome of a battle? Yes.

If not, do they still bring enough to the party to help defeat the deities? N/a.

  1. I have levelled him but not put any emblems on him yet. I have been using the 3* green badger (can’t recall his name up to now) but may dust him out and throw him some emblems. I recall your initial analysis of the S5 heroes you liked him but wasn’t sure myself, but now you have road tested him I will give him a road test.

Like you I love the 3* tournaments, and generally attack 3/2 against the tank/dominant flank. I have levelled my troops to level 10 which also helps. Mind I am 8/2 so far!

    Thanks again for the analysis!

    1. Hey Viscount, yes Grevle is LB for me and has the emblems. Although, he’s been sitting out this tourney. I wish I could say I was consciously thinking about Treevil when I started Faiez, but it was definitely an afterthought… after Faiez Blanked him! Anyway, he’s defo worth the extra 2 tiles to charge his mana.

      Thanks for visiting!

      1. I have emblemed up Faieze this evening, +18, ready to replace Grevle tomorrow. let’s see how he goes!

  2. Well, since I’ve received the good news about Kalo I’m suddenly not in a rush anymore to start on him, so faiez moved up in the line. Reading this I’m getting more and more. curiousabout him.
I am currently playing the tournament with treevil, bertulf, kornel, noril and frosty. They’re doing pretty good. Until the board stopped cooperating 😅

  3. So glad to finnaly read about this hero had him sitting there doing nothing as like me I know nothing about the game haha but now you mentioned it I shall throw alsorts at him and give home a go to busy thinking about the 5s I have and totally forget about the great 3s and 4s.. Thanks for this heads up BF

  4. And he is the first hero my dual Aqeelas hit…Treevil, Aqeela, snowman, Aqueela, Treevil for this tournament…not one hero lost in battle

  5. Cynic – out of interest have you levelled Junaid. I was very excited to level him and emblemed to +18, and limit broke him. I loved the idea of doing damage at fast speed and healing all, however I have been a bit underwhelmed if I am honest. Interested in your view of him?

    1. Sorry, I haven’t pulled him. How much healing does he give per strike? I checked my initial thoughts and I guessed about the 100-150 mark. I like the season 5 heroes because they’re stronger, but of course, some are stronger than others. Sometimes the numbers just don’t add up tho. In the end, I tend to keep levelled heroes (even if they’re not that great), but strip them of their emblems. Yet another reason to love 3/4-star heroes; it doesn’t cost much to experiment!

      1. I have him LB at +18 with Attack 887, Defence 713, Health 1482. He deals 400% damage to single target, and heals all allies for 30% of damage dealt. On the face of it he seems excellent, but I actually find my LB Scarlett does more damage Attack 1005). I probably need to road test him a bit more, but I find he heals about 150 HP to all allies, which isnt that much in todays game and you certainly need another healer. What I probably need to do is pair him with the likes of Wilbur, Boldtusk and Guardian Falcon so that his damage is magnified and thus his heal to all will be higher too!

        1. I pulled Junaid and Faiez and currently have them on the same team. Together they work wonders for defense! But I agree as a stand-alone he isn’t the best. They work well in tandem since Junaids mana speed is faster and can boost the team a bit until Faiez works his magic lol

  6. Faiez was my first S5 3 star maxed and emblemed (Aqueela is leveled as well, but I am out of Rogue emblems atm, so she´s still waiting)
I did level him mainly as a treevil counter, but he did positively surprise my this buff booster in general! I love grevle for the attack boost, but well the Faiez double buff makes up for it. I pair Faiez with Dölgöön who also double buffs (or alternatively does defdown), and then everybody else just deals tons of damage…

I am still planning to max rekhetre and waqas, but I haven´t gotten around to it yet… The only S5 3er I probably will skip is Jarif. Yao seems so much better…
