Topaz Review – Empires and Puzzles
Topaz is a new Empires and Puzzles Ninja hero, and if you’re lucky enough to pull her, you’ll never have to worry about Minions ever again!

Topaz’s Stats and Special Skills (Lethal Needles)
Element: Holy (Yellow)
Class: Sorcerer
Mana Speed: Ninja
Family Bonus (Ninja): Bonus for 2/3 Heroes: 1. 5%/10% chance to dodge normal attacks and Special Skills. 2. 5%/10% chance to counterattack with 60%/90% of the damage received.
First Mana Charge (5 tiles): 1. Destroys all Minions from the target. 2. Deals 310% damage to the target. 3. All allies get a small amount of mana for each destroyed Minion.
Second Mana Charge (10 tiles): 1. Destroys all Minions from the target and nearby enemies. 2. Deals 350% damage to the target and nearby enemies. 3. All allies get a small amount of mana for each destroyed Minion.
Third Mana Charge (15 tiles): 1. Destroys all Minions from all enemies. 2. Deals 390% damage to all enemies. 3. All allies get a small amount of mana for each destroyed Minion.
Talent: DELAY ~ +15% chance to drop the mana generation of the enemy by -50% for 2 turns after dealing damage. The effect is applied at the end of the turn.
Is Topaz worth Levelling? (Empires and Puzzles)
Yes, -Topaz’s a monster hitter with the ability to clear the room… of Minions.

Still, Topaz represents another missile fired in the War of the Minion Killers Vs. Mr. Pengi & Mates.
And it’s getting serious now…
Topaz Vs the Minion Summoners (Empires and Puzzles)
Topaz doesn’t actually target the Summoners at all. Instead, she focuses on the symptoms (the Minions)… My doctor would 😍 her.
And in fairness, it’s needed, because Mr. Pengi & his mates are all over the current Top 10 Defense List, -imposing themselves, -all up in there touching things, with their naked fingers.
It’s heroes like Topaz, Eloise, Penolite, and the last HotM, Viscaro, who actually counter this ruckus.
Asking them politely at first, “Please calm the Minion thing down a bit, cheers”.
And if they don’t: WHHACK!
Now, I can’t condone this behaviour however, the true nature of humanity can’t be denied. . . Feels political, let me back off.
Here’s the thing, Topaz is needed. She’s another hero who can handle Minions, and it’s welcomed.
-And a Ninja at that… I like it.
I like the depth this all adds to the game.
So the question is, how good is Topaz?
She’s absolute top drawer.
Each of her Tiers hit for more than Ruby’s, maxing out at 390% to all. And the Minion effect?
The best way to illustrate it, is with a direct comparison to Eloise, -a new hero with a similar Skillset and an Average mana speed, making her a great baseline.
& we may as well take a look at a few others, while we got the sheet out:

If you happen to have all these Minion Killers, then the question really is, how’d you like your beans cooked?
In isolation, I like a good Mana Boost. That said, Eloise’s a nice compact package. That said, Penolite’s so insanely aggressive. But Viscaro’s passive… man-o-man…

My final thoughts:
Topaz is a great hero but once in a while, you’ll inevitably come across a team which doesn’t rely on Minions.
Thankfully, Topaz whacks with the best of ’em, so there’s no real reason to bench her.
Topaz is real top-end calibre stuff.
Hero Grade for Topaz (Empires and Puzzles)
So for my grading, the question is:
Is this hero’s Special capable of/likely to change the outcome of a battle? Yes.
If not, do they still bring enough to the party to help defeat the deities? N/a.

With all the new heroes being Deity grade, you could do a sub division of that Deity Grade like Deity 1, Deity 2, Deity 3 for example. lol.
SG really change their direction fast. Christmas pulls, its all about minions. Now, Minions begone.!!! lol
Hey MIB, you’re right about divvying up the Grades, but surely for a Deity 1 (Lords Of Lords), you’ll need a strong synergy in the team for it to be exhibited.
I do like the idea that a current Deity is pretty much a Catch-&-Shoot, -you don’t have to worry too much about playstyle… you should be able to hit the screen and watch something significant happen!

Guess what… i got her.
And i have Eloise.
And Viscaro.
She’s great (maybee a bit to close to Eloise’s powers, yet…), hits like a truck, and she has really decent stats (I found in Raid an Eloise +20/85.. dunno what emblems, but her stats are : ATk 989 (OUCH)/Def915 (re OUCH) and Hp : 1606 (re re OUCH).
Let’s see Topaz stats fully emblemed + 85…
Her weaknesses :
1 – She’s rare 😀
2 – Reflect heroes can be a pain (but who rely on reflect nowadays ?)
3 – The point 3, it’s always nice to put 3 lines in a list.

Have you done a review on Grimble? This is the only article that pops up when I search for him.
He’s the 1st non-basic hero that graduated from my hero academy in a year of use. Looks interesting, but most reviews aren’t that high on him. With that being said, these reviews predate the influx of minion summoners.
What are your thoughts based on the recent meta?

Hey NurglesGift, you’re right, he’s perfect for the current game:
Destroys all minions, deals 235% damage to all, and allies get mana for each minion destroyed.
Very similar to Costumed Gormek, but beats him on damage (he only does 180%), and instead of mana, he recovers 80HP per minion.
I think they’re both very useful, and those with them, defo have an advantage over those without.
Personally, while have have C. Gormek, Grimble being Dark would help me more!
The main problem with Grimble is his Power (770 un-emblemed). But he is from 2019!
