The Thrill of the Fight 2: Release Date Announced!

Thrill of the Fight 2 Early Release Information - Meta Quest

The Thrill of the Fight (TotF) is by far one of the best games on the Meta Quest, and yesterday, we received word that The Thrill of the Fight 2 is due for Early Access release on the 21st of November, 2024.

I’m a huge fan of this boxing game; after all, it was part of my seated workout and aided in my recovery.

I still play the original Thrill of the Fight at least twice a week on my Quest and to say that I’m looking forward to this upgrade would be a massive understatement.

It’s been a long time coming, but The Thrill of the Fight 2 is nearly here.

This post may contain speculation, personal opinion, and comedy. It is not advice and is solely for entertainment and informational purposes.

The Thrill of the Fight 2 Early Access Release Details and Date

The Thrill of the Fight 2 will get an “Early Access” release on the 21st of November 2024.

According to the developers, [Reddit] upon release, The TotF2 will initially provide access to the multiplayer mode, with single-player mode to follow:

After launch, we’ll be making sure the current online offerings are as satisfying as they should be before starting work on an AI that has more capabilities and combat smarts than the simple AI of Thrill 1.

The Thrill of Fight 2 will launch on the Meta Quest 2 and 3, and other platforms may follow (with PCVR being ‘very likely’).

The Multiplayer mode will give you a choice of Skill-Based auto-matchmaking or Self-Organized matches.

TotF2 will utilise the developer’s ‘new combat system’ and promises to offer improved physics and damage calculations, which are meant to mimic real boxing more closely.

Before I go, let me share this image I made up, comparing the graphics of Thrill of the Fight 1 Vs. Thrill of the Fight 2:

The first game was such an achievement; however, I’m glad to see that significant steps have been taken in the follow-up.

My final thoughts:

The Thrill of the Fight 2 is a very rare game; in that its predecessor was so good that I’ll likely purchase it on the day of release.

The original Thrill of the Fight made exercise in your living room such an engaging activity that you stopped thinking about the workout and instead focused on winning.

I will do my best to bring you a review of the second game as soon as possible.

Please feel free to share your thoughts below.
