STOP MEGA MINIONS Passive / Naeem (Empires & Puzzles)

The words are expressed thusly:
‘STOP MEGA MINIONS
Enemy Mega Minions can’t attack or use abilities.’
The new Magic Carpet Heroes in Beta benefit from a Passive so powerful that it turns any Mega Minion into a big sack of potatoes.
When the Lunar Passive achieved a similar feat with normal Minions, I was in a very different position. Facing off against the best Heroes on a daily basis.
Nowadays, however, it’s quite rare for me to see a full-blown Meta team up close.
Budget teams might have one Garrison Guard Hero or the odd Mega Minion on display, but it’s more like someone sorted through a bag of broken biscuits and tried to make them look correct for their tea drinking guests.
Looking at the World Leaderboard and Top Alliances, it’s clear as day, Mega Minions occupy key territory.
So, the question is, do we need the new Magic Carpet Heroes to reduce the effectiveness of the Mega Minion?

Magic Carpet Family Passive (Stop Mega Minions)
I’m going to share what we currently know, but please bear in mind that this is all BETA, so things may change before the final release.
There are 8 new Magic Carpet Heroes in Beta:
- Agadh (Legendary)
- Zazha (Legendary)
- Naeem (Legendary)
- Lilli (Legendary)
- Elyssa (Legendary)
- Lando (Legendary)
- Manpip (Epic)
- Bertha (Rare)
And 3 Magic Costumes:
- Milena (Legendary)
- Agrafena (Legendary)
- Nadezhda (Legendary)
All of them have the STOP MEGA MINIONS Passive.
In testing, the STOP MEGA MINIONS Passive does exactly what you’d expect: it removes the threat that Mega Minions pose.
Instead of attacking, the big lumps of joy simply produce a ‘Silenced’ error code.
Of course, you’re still faced with a heap of HP to battle through, and the rest of the owner’s Special Skills. But muting the Mega Minion is substantial.
Should this happen, I expect it would create a massive shake-up at the higher levels of play. It would also impact players who currently swing above their weight due to their ownership of a solid Mega Minion Hero.
For those who don’t have Mega Minions on staff, if they get hold of one of these Passives, they stand a better chance of victory.
However, Mega Minions represent only one aspect of battle.
Naeem, The Magic Carpet Counterattacker (Empires and Puzzles)
The Lunar Passive that immobilised Minions across the globe came with Xiaotu and Laohu, two snipers:

As a result, they might not have offered the same versatility as other Heroes.
In fact, it wasn’t out of the norm to see them hidden at the back of a Defense, seemingly there to primarily execute their Passive.
The new Magic Carpet Heroes are much more versatile.
Naeem Review: Empires and Puzzles Beta
Naeem, a Red Legendary Hero, is Average speed. Here’s his Special:
- All buffs affecting attack, defense and mana generation on the target and nearby enemies are replaced by matching uncleansable ailments (-20% for 3 turns).
- Deals 325% damage to the target and nearby enemies.
- The caster and nearby allies counterattack with 150% of the damage received for 4 turns.
- The caster and nearby allies get Sand Touch for 4 turns (Each counterattack inflicts 840 Sand damage over 4 turns)
The first part, Replacing buffs with ailments, is a Skill that all of the new Magic Carpet Heroes possess. However, it is not always the first part of the Special, as it is with Naeem.
As a result, he might replace Defense-Up with Defense-Down before he strikes.
Next, you have a significant hit to three enemies.
And then the counterattack, which inflicts 840 Sand damage with each response.
Naeem’s Passives & Family Bonus
Naeem also has a couple of other Passives that run alongside the STOP MEGA MINIONS Petition.
- When this character receives direct damage from Special Skills or Normal Attacks, they receive 1% mana. Maximum of 5% mana gained per turn.
- Flight Momentum: If this character has any amount of Flight Momentum, they receive up to +20% mana generation, +5% extra chance to dodge, and the effects diminish the less Flight Momentum the character has. (This is connected to the Magic Carpet Family Bonus)
Magic Carpet Family Bonus: Heroes of this Family have Flight Momentum. The Hero starts with full Flight Momentum and loses a small amount at the end of each turn and when they take damage. The Hero gains Flight Momentum when they cast their Special Skill. Slower Heroes gain an increased amount of Flight Momentum. Bonus for 1/2/3 Heroes: 10%/20%/30% chance to increase 5% Mana of all allies when this Hero casts their Special Skill.
Naeem is a modern Hero, meaning modern Stats.
The fully-maxed Naeem I received in Beta was flexing:
ATK: 1756 DEF: 1502 HP: 2800
The point is, these Magic Heroes are doing a heck of a lot, especially compared to the Lunar Heroes!
It would be much easier to incorporate them into any team.

WEAKER MEGA MINIONS / Wolf & Raven Family (Empires and Puzzles)
My final thoughts:
There’s another Anti-Mega Minion Passive in Beta, and it’s called Weaker Mega Minions.
It reduces the inherited HP a Mega Minion receives by 75%.
I tested it in Beta against Fergus, who, without it, summoned a Mega Minion worth 1533 HP, but with it on the field, only managed 384 HP.
The Weaker Mega Minions Passive is being tested with Wolf and Raven family Heroes. It looks like this might be their new Passive. ~Which would be epic if it happens.
Seeing Esme and Lord Ludwig with this Passive is next-level awesome.
I thought you’d be interested in the new Passives. No matter what level you play at, Passives like these are likely to have some impact.

And WEAKER MEGA MINIONS Passive?
How would they impact your game?

To be honest, I don’t mind. I have enough heroes with Mega minions, but I don’t rely on them. Also, most will pull 1 or 2 magic carpet heroes and in the greater scheme of things, the splash they make won’t be that big.
I think you are right; nevertheless it’s good to see there are different ways SG works on balancing old and new heroes over the years. As an average C2P player – not playing to win at all costs – they keep me satisfied. I can see the development of the game during the years, understanding at the same time the need of profit for the company to exist as long as possible. So, I do mind.
But every player has his own goals and motivation to keep on playing and the freedom to quit the game at any time. Thus remains to wish everyone much pleasure in playing any game whatsoever including EP.
PS: Welcome back OC at EP !
Thank you, guys. Sorry with the late reply, I’ve been so busy. I think this will be interesting. These MM are ruling at the top at the moment so this, and with other Beta Heroes in the works, might mean a change in tide. We shall see.
Thanks again!
-75% HP. No affecting their ability.
Well thats a slight difference.
Thank you, TLK. I have been so busy! For any readers, the beta proposal detailed in this post were lessened to -75% HP for MM.
Its still GOOD.
-75% of MM health will really help take them down. But they promised us heroes who would change the game…and they gave us -75% hitpoints. It woulda been so much better if they didnt show us the new heroes who would Storm onto the field, publicly castrate and shame all MegaMinions who dares show themselves….and then laugh when they flailed about unable to defend themselves after being bully’s for so long….
And now…
Its just disappointing is all.
