Royal Match Help: Save Your Cash ~ Beat Any Level

What’s the difference between a Royal Match player who struggles with the game and a player who beats it with ease?

I wanted to answer that question so I could really help those who find Royal Match too challenging.

Of course, I could only analyse my own gameplay; however, I think I’ve come up with the key.

This could be my most important Royal Match lesson. ~Today, I’m sharing my personal strategy for beating any random tile board generated within Royal Match.

I’m going to break this down into 3 sections:

  1. Reviewing the starting board
  2. The most important part: The Old Cynic Method©
  3. Caveats and related material

Now, this might all sound a tad serious for what looks like a childish match-3 game.

However, if you’re not careful, within moments, King Robert will be adjusting his girdle while you’re trying to figure out where all your moves went!

If this helps you, please tell your Teammates about me. That would really help.

About Me: I’m a Free-2-Play player who has been playing Royal Match [my review] for over a year. I’ve completed all available levels and now reside within the Royal League. Here’s a screenshot of my account:

Royal Match Winning Strategy – Player Help!

The easiest way to break down my gameplay strategy is to show you by playing. And a little later, that is exactly what I’ll do.

But before that, let me explain it in simple words so you understand what you’re watching.

Here is how I approach each new level…

Step 1: Reviewing The Board

Review the starting board and consider the options for either a Light Ball match with a Propeller or a TNT-Propeller match.

The Propeller is the most useful Booster available at the beginning of a level because it allows you to utilize other Boosters without pointlessly destroying all others.

At this early stage, while I have a Light Ball available, I am always working out how to quickly match it with another Booster.

If I have two Light Balls, most of the time, I’ll match them with each other when possible.

When that’s not possible, I’ll try to salvage the other by making the first Light Ball match with a Propeller.

If there are no easy Light Ball matches, I will use either a Royal Hammer or a Jester Hat, depending on the circumstances.

However, if there’s absolutely nothing to be gained from an early Light Ball, I will quickly destroy it and move on.

I won’t waste too many moves because that might ultimately cost me the level.

The idea with Step 1 is to do as much damage as possible with your free hardware (Butler’s Gift) and to make space for Step 2.

Step 2: The Old Cynic Method

This is the most important part of this post; the method.

Royal Match Help - Save Your Cash - Winning Strategy

Instead of working the tiles around the edges of the board, hoping to damage the Target Objects (in the example above, that’s the Safe and Boxes at the bottom), I will mainly focus on the centre of the open tile area.

I have drawn a circle around the area I am describing in the image above.

~So, I completely ignore the Target Objects and instead focus on making good matches in the open space above them.

My goal is to create Boosters.

The Boosters will destroy the level, not my moves next to the edge/Target Objects.

If there is nothing on offer but a TNT (for instance), I will simply move it as close to a Target Object as possible and destroy it.

In doing so, hoping to draw down a more useful set of tiles.

I will create TNTs, Propellers, and Rockets, aligning and destroying them as moves pass; however, the ultimate goal is always to create a Light Ball.

When destroying these Boosters, I try to focus their energy on the Target Objects that I need to clear to complete the level.

Once I get my Light Ball, I’ll match it with the best option readily available to me.

In my experience, a couple or a few Light Balls formed in this way are normally enough to get the job done.

Step 3: Caveats (Royal Match Help)

This strategy has a few caveats, and I recommend reading my other guides to gain a deeper understanding. This post is designed to complement my Royal Match Tips, in particular.

The key thing to note is that when things don’t go according to plan, there’s nothing wrong with blowing it all up with some In-Game-Boosters that you might have.

Of course, once you have a level in the bag, then that’s the time to collect all the stuff you’re interested in (items for Book of Treasure or Propeller Madness).

However, it’s important to keep an eye on the Moves Box.

You could easily get carried away and run out of moves anyway!

My final thoughts:

Now you have the strategy in words; you can watch the video. [YouTube]

In the video, I play three random levels; however, hopefully, you can see how I use my strategy to repeatedly beat levels in Royal Match.

I know this strategy isn’t for everyone, but it’s my best attempt to explain my mindset when playing Royal Match.

I have used this style of gameplay to help my wife when she gets stuck, so I know it will work even without Butler’s Gift (although you might need to retry difficult levels until you get the Super Light Ball back).

Please tell your teammates about me! It does help when you spread the word.
