Royal Match: Dragon Nest & Magic Tokens [Guide/Tips]

Royal Match Dragon Nest Tokens - Balls Tips and Guide

The Royal Match Dragon Nest Event offers great rewards and a Special Profile Frame. Today, I’m going to summarise the Event and share my personal strategy for collecting the prizes ASAP.

There are 2 key factors for finishing the Dragon’s Nest quickly:

  1. Getting the right partners, and
  2. Promptly harvesting Magic Balls (Magic Tokens)

About Me: I’m Free-2-Play and have been playing Royal Match for over a year. I’ve completed all available Levels and now reside within the Royal League. I finished off the current Dragon’s Nest yesterday and here’s a snapshot of my new Special Frame as proof:

A Quick Summary of the Dragon Nest in Royal Match

The Dragon Nest is a periodic Event where you have to Beat Levels to collect Magic Balls to hatch (or raise) Dragons, who will ultimately open the Grand Prize Chest.

It normally lasts for 10 days and you have to be above Level 75 to participate.

For this Event, you will work with 4 other Players and each Player will help you to hatch a baby Dragon.

Here’s what the Dragon Nest looks like before you invite friends over:

If you press the “+” symbol, the following screen will pop up and you can then invite your friends:

You can also hit the “Invite Team” button which will create a notification in the Team Chat Board, inviting anyone in your Team to join you for the Event.

How Do You Get Magic Balls and Raise Dragons? (Royal Match)

To unlock the Grand Prize Chest, you collect Magic Balls that are used in the Dragon Pinball Machine to earn Magic Tokens.

And it’s the Tokens that are used to slowly unlock (or “raise”) the individual Dragons.

Once all the Dragons are unlocked, they will breathe fire onto the main Dragon Reward Chest to open it.

What are the rewards for the Dragon Nest Event?

All of this:

As you can see, the rewards are:

  • Exclusive Frame for your profile picture
  • 1 Red Card Pack (for the Royal Collection)
  • 5000 Gold Coins
  • 1 TNT
  • 1 Lightball
  • 1 Royal Hammer
  • 1 Arrow
  • 1 Cannon
  • 1 Jester Hat

Where can I get Magic Balls (AKA Magic Tokens) for the Dragon’s Nest?

When the Dragon Nest Event is on, Magic Balls will become rewards for several other Events, however, the main way you collect them is by completing Levels.

Completing a Normal Level will net you 1 Magic Ball.

A Hard Level gets you 3 Magic Balls.

And a Super Hard Level gets you 5 Magic Balls.

(If you have an active x2 bonus, these numbers will double).

As mentioned, Magic Balls are also prizes for several Events, such as the Hidden Temple Event:

Here’s a general list of where you can find Magic Balls:

  • Book of Treasure
  • Propeller Madness
  • Hidden Temple
  • Mission Control
  • And I’m sure there are others!

How do I use Magic Balls? (Royal Match)

After you’ve accumulated some Magic Balls, you can play the Pinball Machine to earn Magic Tokens.

To find the Pinball Machine, click on the Egg/Dragon that you want to contribute towards.

Once on the Pinball Machine screen, you simply slide the Green trigger downwards to play.

The ball will make its way through the machine and land in one of the slots at the bottom, with the opportunity to hit bumpers and multipliers to increase the Magic Tokens earned along the way.

There is a multiplier button in the top right corner. If you have enough Magic Balls, you can select to increase the cost and rewards of each play.

Selecting a higher multiplier will cost you that many Magic Balls per play, however, it will also increase the rewards from hitting the bumpers.

Each Magic Ball can hit any of the bumpers up to 10 times. Hitting the bumpers with x1 multiplier selected will earn you 1 Magic Token per hit, with the x5 multiplier they are worth 5 Magic Tokens per hit. x10 are worth 10 Tokens, and so on.

Hitting the bumpers a maximum of 10 times will double the reward.

The slot in which the Magic Ball lands will determine how much the total score will be multiplied by. -You have the chance to land in x1, x2, x3, or x10.

Here are the options for the multiplier button and the maximum rewards you can earn from each play:

  • x1 = 200 Magic Tokens
  • x5 = 1000 Magic Tokens
  • x10 = 2000 Magic Tokens
  • x20 = 4000 Magic Tokens
  • x50 = 10,000 Magic Tokens

I like to save my Magic Balls for the x50 multiplier option.

Royal Match: Dragon Nest – My Tips

My final thoughts:

Everybody wants to finish the Dragon Nest as soon as it appears, and I’m no different.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s waiting around for that one Player who isn’t contributing.

Here’s what I do (and it’s proven to work!) to mitigate that problem and to get to the prize pronto:

  1. I only have active Players on my Friends List. There is no point in sharing the Dragon Nest with an inactive Player. They can not help if they’re not playing.
  2. I only invite Players with a high number of “First Try Wins” and a low number of “Helps Received”. They are more likely to breeze through Levels for the Dragon Nest.
  3. I grind Royal Match, following my own tips, and collect a bunch of Magic Balls.
  4. I always try to contribute 10,000 Magic Tokens to each Dragon and move on to the next one once I have.

By the time I have contributed over 50% of the Magic Tokens for each Dragon, most of my Dragon Nest friends have done the same.

Distributing your Tokens evenly (among the Hatchlings) can also help indicate to your partners that you are actively working on hatching the Dragons!

While I tend to hurry through the Event, I don’t get too judgemental with my partners early on. You have to give people time.

However, if the end of the Event is nearing and they still haven’t contributed enough, well, they won’t be joining me for the next Dragon Nest!

These tips might seem a little strict, but I’ve had bad partners before and won’t do it again! 😁

OK, that’s it from me.
