Kravekrush Review – Empires and Puzzles (Underwild)

Kravekrush Empires and Puzzles Hero Card

We’d all like to learn the secrets of life and while I can’t lay claim to Enlightenment, just like Indiana Jones, I too have sought out the Holy Grail.

But it’s not for me to say what’s found deep inside the chambers of the Temple, however, I will share…

…It’s the same Truth which is hidden within all the holy books, the same story told in many movies, the same poem sung in many songs.

It’s a secret so powerful, they hid it from the world.

And what is the nature of this secret?

The redemptive powers of re-birth.

However, my dear friends, there is such a Creature that seeks to stop the Phoenix from rising…

…which seeks to bind its wings and to tie it down…

…keeping it from glory, keeping it from soaring across the heavens…

And that Creature, from this day, may be known as Kravekrush, -the living nightmare, the trapper of souls, and the comforter to those lost to the murky abyss.

Kravekrush – Empires and Puzzles

Is Kravekrush worth Levelling? (Empires and Puzzles)

I would.

Kravekrush is currently the only one of his kind in Empires and Puzzles. The only Hero who can stop dead souls from returning to their avatars.

And, he stands opposed to Mother North in Special, Passive, and Element.

Kravekrush’s Special Skills (Old Cynic Review)

Taking a serious eye at Kravekrush, it’s obvious what his purpose is (anti-Reviver).

And while that’s great and fantastic, it’s also very situational.

But, if you’re facing Mother North, Nadezhda, or any of the other Revivers, Kravekrush’s gonna krush ’em, -QuickTime.

And he’s not even playing around; stopping re-births for a long 5 turns. -He also blocks resurrections from Status Effects.

Then, soon as he’s done, he gets to slapping back and forth, the faces of three enemies.

Now, before I get into comparisons, let me explain, I didn’t intend to write a review today. I didn’t even know Kravekrush was being released.

However, he was simply too significant to ignore.

Anyway, my last review was for Zagrog, the March HotM. And as soon as I saw Kravekrush, I thought of Zagrog.

Why?

Because they both hit for the same amount: 430% to the target and minor damage to nearby enemies.

This is important because it really highlights the value of the secondary. While Zagrog breaches Defenses, Kravekrush directly impedes some of the most powerful Heroes in Empires and Puzzles.

Onto the table…

How Good is Kravekrush? (Empires and Puzzles)

This is the same table used in the Zagrog review.

OldCynic.com – Kravekrush Comparison Table

Now, you might be super excited at the prospect of introducing your brand spanking new Kravekrush to Mother North, -next time you happen to see her across the battlefield.

But that brings us to Kravekrush’s main weakness; he’s nothing without his polar opposite;

  • without the Good, to his Bad
  • the Light, to his Dark
  • the Reviver, to his Block

Without the opposing force with which to wrestle, he can not reach his full potential…

…destined to drift, as a big slapper, in the never-ending sea of forgetfulness.

This Mana Passive…

Kravekrush only has one Passive skill, and it represents another piece of collusion against those who would breathe new life into empty shells:

  • Passive: This Hero receives 20% mana at the start of the battle.

This means, all things being equal, he’ll reach the Crossroads before the Revivers.

And once there, he’ll lie in wait, foaming at the mouth in anticipation of sending them back from whence they came.

Kravekrush Review – Empires and Puzzles

My final thoughts:

Kravekrush is a fantastic Hero for dealing with Revivers.

In fact, he should manage them so well that his value might go unnoticed; -as you get used to neutering Mother North on the regular.

However, without Revivers to shackle, he’s just another Hitter in the same league as Richard or Thorne (albeit, with better stats).

And as a result, he’s just not ideal for plug-in-and-play situations (like leaving him on a permanent Raid team for example), however, lower-level players may be fine, doing just that.

Here’s the thing, Revivers currently win lots of battles. They’re super-strong Heroes, and having Kravekrush on your team/roster should make dealing with them a breeze.

Kravekrush must now be a favourite for the 6th Man of the Year award, coming off the bench as/when is needed, to lay the smackdown on your foes.

As for grading, I’m balancing the two:

  • His usefulness against the Revivers Vs.
  • His usefulness against normal Heroes…

Hero Grade for Kravekrush (Empires and Puzzles)

So for my grading, the question is:

Is this Hero’s Special capable of/likely to change the outcome of a battle? No.

If not, do they still bring enough to the party to help defeat the deities? Yes.

  1. My only problem with this hero is how niche he is. Its awesome hes the only hero that does this, and hes the premier answer to Mother North, but after the recent nerfs, MN is barely on any defense teams and even in wars, it feels like it would be hard to justify giving him rings since too many other reds are useful in more places. Season 5 isnt introducing a bunch of ressurection either, so it makes it hard to level this hero, even if his ability is unique. If he blocked taunt as well, Id consider him, but for now, he heads to the backlog for me personally. I dont think hes a bad hero, just for me, too niche to be too excited about.

      1. I think we are forfetting rush wars and tournaments, with teams full of revivers, with the typical situation when you are lucky enough to kill Alfrike, then revives again and again untill you are dead. I’ve been very lucky to get Morel and Kravekrush with 20 pulls. He’s going to get the rings for sure

        1. Hey Nachomain, I agree. This guy may be a little underrated… One of the best Off-the-bench heroes in the game (imv).

Admittedly, he needs the right situation to dust off the shoes, but when he’s needed, he should get the job done.

PS. If I were running a Fire Raid team, I might even make space for him, dependent on the options.

          Thanks for visiting and commenting!

  2. I had 5 free Underworld tickets this morning and was super lucky to get Kravecrush. I don’t have Mother North, or any of the other 5 star re-spawners so feel elated to get him – especially as he has effectively free!

  3. I’d say he’s not so much a niche hero depending on the level you play at.
It’s not exactly uncommon in VF wars to face MN/krampus/alfrike/Miki/2nd MN or Alby-C and in top 50 it’s not uncommon with 30 players with that type of setup.
So I’m pretty happy I pulled 2 from saved UW coins and busy levelling both right now to make sure my enemies stay dead ;D

So yes, it’s an awesome hero now after they broke lepiota against MN and all other resist heroes.

      1. Sorry to revive(should have a kravekrush as a moderator) this thread.
Quick update about kravekrush, he might not be the slayer of all resurrection heroes… It seems Mother north in costume(monk class 30% chanse to resist negative stuff) tend to block kravekrushs special. Noticed it today.
Hit her hard in VF wars and she resurrected the whole team, so it’s insane that they give us a hero that is supposed to counter resurrection but still manage to block it with a costume with even higher resurrection chance 55% costume Vs 50% regular MN.

They could at least, make it so kravekrush pass through bud/monk resist etc.
Was close to LB him due to hard use, but now? Don’t think so.

  4. I don’t see him being that impactful in rush wars, where you often face 6 teams with Mother North. You won’t have 6 Kravekrush, probably.

He’ll be excellent in rush tournaments though.

    1. Hey byzanthia, yea -he deffo has a role to play and even if not available for each battle in war, at least he’ll be an option for one. He would make MN and friends much more manageable.
