How To Get Gold Cards In Royal Match [Key Tips]

The Royal Match Card Collection is one of the game’s most lucrative Events, giving you the opportunity to collect 10K and 15K gold coins, along with a bunch of Boosters.
However, some players struggle to secure the more elusive Gold Cards.
Gold Cards are especially difficult to obtain because you can’t trade them with your friends like you can with all the other Cards.
Instead, you must obtain them from Card Packs.
In this post, I’m going to focus on Gold Cards, sharing my strategy for ensuring I collect them all. I’ll also provide a rundown of how you can pick them up.
It should be noted that I already have a guide for the Royal Card Collection, which includes general tips for completion.
About me: I have been playing Royal Match for over a year, have completed all Levels, and now reside within the Royal League. I have completed every Royal Collection (including the Grand Collection), and done it all as a Free2Play Player.

This post may contain speculation, personal opinion, and adult comedy. It is not advice and is solely for entertainment and informational purposes.
How can you get Gold Cards in Royal Match?
There are several ways to get Gold Cards in Royal Match, both free and paid.
I’ll cover them here:
Getting FREE Gold Cards in Royal Match
Gold Cards, just like normal Cards, come from Card Packs.
Every time you open a Card Pack, you have a chance to collect a free Gold Card.
When the Royal Card Collection Event is active, Card Packs become available as rewards in most other Events, so you’ll see them everywhere!
That includes (but is not limited to) the free Royal Pass, Propeller Madness, Book Of Treasure, Balloon Rise, and even “Area” completions.
There is currently a Purple Card Pack up for grabs in the Lighting Rush Event:

Top Tip: Keep an eye on the King’s Cup when the Royal Collection is coming to an end (near the end of the 62-day period). Because the King’s Cup improves its rewards by offering a Red Card Pack instead of a Purple Card Pack as its top prize (in the Purple Box). -Read my King’s Cup guide to see how I took advantage of it.
Finally, you can also use your Card Stars in the Royal Collection Tab to open Card Star Chests:

Note the Red Chest with the Red Card Pack (for 500 Stars).
There are 5 different Card Packs in Royal Match:

- Brown = 2 cards
- Green = 3 cards
- Blue = 4 cards
- Purple = 6 cards
- Red = Special Pack
The Red Card Pack is special because it guarantees a minimum of 1 New Card. This is important and we’ll come back to it later.
Onto the Paid options!
BUYING Gold Cards in Royal Match
Since the introduction of the Royal Card Collection, Red Card Packs have been available for purchase, although they’re not always obtainable.
Here’s an example of a Deal that’s currently available:

You can also purchase more Card Packs via the premium Royal Pass:

Here’s a list of all the additional Card Packs you’d receive with the premium Royal Pass:
- 5 Blue Packs
- 4 Purple Packs
- 1 Red Pack
Note: Royal Pass rewards are not guaranteed. You must beat Levels to collect Keys in order to unlock them.

Royal Match: My Strategy for getting Gold Cards
Obtaining Gold Cards is essential for completing the Royal Card Collection, which is really important to me as a Free2Play player.
After all, I need those free coins!
How do I get my Gold Cards?
Getting all the Gold Cards you need is all about having a solid strategy for completing the Royal Collection.
When a new Royal Collection arrives, I aim to complete it as quickly as possible, which means grinding out lots of Levels.
I tend to grind Royal Match in the morning for about 30 to 45 minutes (I might also play in the evening).
The morning is a great time to play because, with all the Events on, I’m better rewarded for the time I spend.
As is my purpose, I tend to complete most Events and, in doing so, collect many free Card Packs, which, in turn, sometimes contain Gold Cards.
And that is the first and most critical part of my strategy: play a lot/beat lots of Levels.
(If you need help with beating Levels, check out my Royal Match Tips)
Do I Trade for Cards?
You can’t trade for Gold Cards, but you can do it for others.

Trading normal Cards with your Teammates and Friends is a great way to ensure you make the most of any Red Card Pack you receive.
A good strategy is to wait until you only need 1 normal Card to complete a Set (excluding Gold Cards). That way, you’ll have a clear focus on which Card to ask for.
~It can get tiresome and messy if everyone is constantly asking for multiple cards at the same time.
Also, be a good Teammate and return the favour!
Once you’ve collected all of the normal Cards, you can focus on the Gold Cards and rack up your Card Stars in the process.
I usually fill up my normal Card collection pretty quickly on my own, but I will ask for normal Cards that are taking too long to appear, -maybe 3 to 5 per Royal Collection.
What’s your Top Tip for getting Gold Cards?
I ensure success in the Royal Collection by saving my Card Stars and only using them when there are one or two Gold Cards left to find.
At that point, I use Card Stars to purchase the Red Chest to get the guaranteed Card, which will have to be the Gold Card I’m missing.
Remember, the Red Chest only promises 1 New Card, not necessarily a Gold Card, so I always figured there was a risk in buying it while also needing normal Cards.
If I have enough Card Stars for more Red Chests, then I begin the process earlier.
And that’s my Top Tip for ensuring you get enough Gold Cards to complete the Royal Collection.
Royal Match: How to get Gold Cards
My final thoughts:
In summary, Gold Cards appear in Card Packs, which you earn by grinding out Levels and completing Events.
-The more you play (and succeed), the easier the collection process will be.
You can also get Gold Cards from Red Chests that you can open with your Card Stars.
Finally, you can get even more Card Packs by activating the premium Royal Pass or by purchasing them from another in-game Sales offer.
