How Good is Senan? Empires and Puzzles Slayers Review

Screenshot of Senan from Slayers Hero Empires and Puzzles

Senan is a new 5-Star Hero from the Empires and Puzzles event, Slayers of Fell Shadows. In my view, Senan is second only to Caitlin in the Slayers’ pecking order.

Senan is all about inflicting serious damage; if he doesn’t get you with his devastating strike, he’ll get you with his HP-draining Fiends.

And, did I mention he has a pretty ludicrous Family bonus?

Senan – Empires and Puzzles

Is Senan worth Levelling? (Slayers of Fell Shadows)

Yes.

We’re all here for one reason: Senan’s devastation.

Sure, Senan is a SLOW mana Hero, but if you get the Slayers Family bonus working for you, and a good troop level attached, he should charge quite a bit quicker than near SLOW.

And later in the battle, he’ll effectively be a FAST mana Hero. But Senan’s Special also stands on its own merit -let’s compare it with other Fiend summoners and/or heavy hitters:

HeroMana SpeedDamage/OtherFiend DamageHealing Absorbed by Fiend
SenanSlayer275% to ALL45%30%
Motega Tier-2Slow-50% accuracy to Owner43%50%
Elizabeth*Average175% to ALL43%28%
Hannah**Fast215% to Target & NB43%20%
CobaltSlow360% to ALLN/aN/a
MorelFast180% to ALLN/aN/a
KillhareAverage300% to ALLN/a N/a
Senan compared to similar Heroes

Notes: *Elizabeth’s Fiend also inflicts -24% mana generation for the duration of its stay. **Hannah’s Fiend also inflicts -20% attack for the duration of its stay.

Where does that leave us?

Senan offers the best of both worlds: He’s a top-drawer hitter and also summons the most powerful Fiend in Empires and Puzzles.

I know, I know… “but he’s slow!”

Well, all of the Slayers of Fell Shadows are slow! And the Family bonus is meant to offset that fact. By how much? We don’t currently know for sure.

But if the Family bonus lives up to expectations, then Senan will look like a prize catch.

My final thoughts:

Senan isn’t unique in what he does, but he does deliver the most weight behind his punches. He also has the potential of delivering that violence at speed dial: FAST, after the first 10 turns in-game.

At the end of the day, he’s another top-notch 5-Star Hero to add to the Wishlist.

  1. Thanks for the writeup! I really like using him, especially since I don’t have Elizabeth. What talent path would you recommend using for him?

    1. Hey Gabby, I have a standard procedure for all of my heroes; Health/Defence, as seen here.

However, nobody would suggest that with Senan, because it looks like his Fiends’ attack level is linked to his own (The Fiend damages the enemy with 45% attack every turn). So taking the health path would not only reduce his 275% potential damage-to-all, but also the Fiend’s attack.

All that said, if I had him, I’d still take him health because that’s what I do! I’d want to do everything I could to keep him alive to make sure he fires off.

Sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer, more food-for-thought.

  2. Great write up, i really wanted him and some of the other 5* Slayers and chased them a bit too much, getting none of them. That said with mild chasing i was rewarded yesterday with Wolfgang and Quenell, so now i dont feel as bad

  3. Do not have SENAN yet. But not impressed. I’ve got Quenell, Bobo , Killhare. And the 3 wolves.

VISCARO is an easier to get fiend hero.

    1. Hi Richard,

Senan was part of the first wave of crazy heroes last year, and now he’s looking a bit dated. Viscaro’s Passive is awesome and I completely see what you’re saying!
