Empires & Puzzles: The Great Reset, Week II (Rosepetite)

Rosepetite.

It’s funny. On my old account, I would have been cussing and cursing on seeing Rosepetite swanning outta the Portal, but now I need new Heroes like world governments need plebs.

I saved up 300 Gems and spun them all at the Alliance Quest Portal, and she happened to pop out.

A couple of days later, I watched an Ad for a free Underwild Summons, and Costumed Morris appeared…

The duality of life in a nutshell, right there.

The great balance of things.

‘Surely, they’ve fixed him’, I hoped, nervously inspecting his new Special…

Fu#k me, this bastard now takes an extra turn to do the same damn thing!!!

Empires & Puzzles: The Resetting II (Help For Beginners)

Maybe if I keep adding “the Great Reset” in these posts, Google will send me some people looking for answers.

To them, I would say, good luck. ‘Cause if the mass media is telling you about it, it’s long past too late!

In regards to E&P, the ball continues to roll.

I’m already collecting Mats for 5-Star Heroes, even though I’ve never so much as seen one up close.

Following on from last week, here are a few more things newbies will want to know.

How do I get Heroes Without Spending Money?

This is a tricky one, especially as a new player.

E&P does give you some free stuff now and then, however, to really have a shot, you need to be strong enough to complete EVENT Quests. ~Which is nigh-impossible without decent Heroes.

It’s a negative cycle.

Weak Heroes might also hinder your World Map progression.

To break the cycle, I suggest finding a suitably easy World Map stage to Auto-Play again and again. As your World Energy Flags replenish, continue to Auto that same level.

By doing this, you’ll earn resources and experience, which will help you to level up any decent Heroes you might already have.

And with stronger Heroes, you’ll have a better shot at completing Quests when they arrive.

EVENT Quests are essential for new players because you can earn free Coins and Tokens to use at the Summoning Portal. ~Giving you a chance to pick up a new monster 5-Star Hero or a powerful 3/4-Star Hero.

When can I access the EVENT Quest Tab?

I believe it’s Level 10; that’s when I first noticed it.

When can I participate in Alliance Wars?

Level 12.

Empires & Puzzles: Rosepetite

Rosepetite is a great first 3-Star Hero to pick up because she does a lot offensively.

Once I have her levelled, I’ll be able to make some good progress on Season 1, and I can see her being applicable across the game for a long while.

Here’s her Special:

• Deals 200% damage (base Atk: 512) to the target AND nearby enemies.
• Target and nearby receive 272 Toxin damage over 4 turns. Damage is increased against targets with boosted health, Minions, or Mega Minion.

Rosepetite also enjoys the Moth Family Bonus: Cast Moth Dust to a random enemy for 2 turns, which represents a -10% decrease in mana generation (target falls asleep if cleansed or removed).

And she has a 10% Special Skills dodge Passive.

As I say, a lovely little Hero to get the ball rolling with.

She wouldn’t improve my old account, but here, she’s considered a star.

In honesty, I don’t want to level up too many old Heroes like the Rigard I pulled last week. Simply because I know how redundant they’ll be in the mid-term.

I’d much rather fill my roster with Heroes like Rosepeite due to that blessed Power Creep.

That said, Rigard is a solid defensive Hero (I’d love the Costume down the line) who would pair well with Rosepetite’s offence.

… You’re wondering where Morris… Sorry. Costumed Morris fits into this equation?

For now, I’m forced to use him due to his higher Stats. However, I have no long-term plans for him.

I don’t think I’ll burn him, though; there’s something uniquely fascinating about his erratic behaviour.

~He’s actually not terrible to use, at this early stage in the game.

My final thoughts:

I’ve been watching more Ads this time around, and I don’t like how some of them open up the Apple Store App after you’re finished. Hopefully, they will fix that.

I’m not sure if I’ll purchase the VIP Pass, which would help with some Gems and, importantly, the extra Base Builder.

It’s great value, and I purchased it a few times before; however, I’m in less of a hurry this time.

Part of me wants to see what happens if I go completely Free To Play.

…just as an experiment.

We shall see.
