Director Zuri’s Re-balancing

Earlier this month, on 21st September 2021, Director Zuri received a serious Buffing. Hopefully everyone’s aware of this significant change, because she’s now a top contender for best Average healer in Empires and Puzzles. Here’s what they changed:

  1. HP recovered for the ally with the lowest health increased from 45% to 60%
  2. HP recovered by all other allies increased from 30% to 37%

Is Director Zuri worth Levelling? (Empires and Puzzles)

Yes. She’s a fantastic healer. What more could you want? Let’s compare her to the competition:

Director Zuri compared to similar heroes

Note: While reviewing these heroes, it’s important to know what order their Special skills occur in. To learn more about Hero Cards, see this post.

We already know how strong some of these healers are, and we all have our personal favourites. Xnolphod and Ariel are two of mine. But Director Zuri beats Xnolphod as a pure healer -I’m not saying she’s a better overall hero, but she’s definitely a better healer.

And it’s expected, because Director Zuri specialises in healing.

The Director’s Blessing…

First, she focuses on the most down-trodden member of your group, and seeks to lift their spirits. She will heal that sorry fellow for 60% HP. Then she’ll heal the rest of your mob for 37% -a very respectable figure. Ariel, also a fantastic Average healer, heals for 40%. And in my mind, that 40% is the bar.

Our good Director Zuri, comes in at 37% (following her Buffing). And, I’m not going to argue 3%.

So, already we have a substantial healer on our hands. But there’s more…

Next, she’ll Summons a Minion for each ally. Not a weak Minion at that, but something with more meat on its bones than Motega’s own Minions. In-fact, Director Zuri’s Minions also hit harder.

Both Freya and Bera, who are Fast mana heroes, Summon Minions with 20% HP and 20% Attack. This again reflects well on Zuri’s showing at 13% HP and 20% Attack.

Finally, Director Zuri does what all good healers should do; She Cleanses. While it’s not ideal, coming after the healing, it’ll still be perfectly adequate most of the time.

Overall, Director Zuri is a well thought-out hero who does her job particularly well.

My final thoughts:

If you weren’t a fan of Director Zuri before her Buffing, you’ve gotta be a fan now. She’s an Average healer who really focuses on healing.

She’s great support for Attack Path heroes who keep dying early, and is otherwise a great defensive powerhouse.

Director Zuri does a lot for her Average mana spin, so much in-fact, that she has the potential of changing the outcome of any Battle. And that makes her awesome.

  1. Hi,
I would like to know your views on Russula, how good she is, where & how would she be best utilised, etc.
I was fortunate/unfortunate to pull 2. Do you suggest leveling both the copies?
    Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi Satish -Thanks for subscribing! I haven’t run into Russula much, but took a look at her for you.

I’m not overly impressed, but her value to you must be based on your roster. In isolation I’d say, she looks interesting but I hate heroes who hide. Her first strike is weak, and the second slap isn’t crazy strong either (reminds me of Gullinbursti’s backhand: 171-315 to all). The disappearing act might be useful, but it’s only for 2 turns (assuming the forum is accurate), and that’s not long. But we have to remember, this is all on a Very Fast mana speed.

If I’m honest, I’d want to try her out at 3/70 to get a feel for her before committing. But looking at her from a distance, if I were a top 100 chaser, I wouldn’t. If I were F2P, yep- all day long.

Well, those are my initial thoughts. What do you think? Have you played her? Let me know!

      1. I have her maxed out & emblemed but seriously don’t find her all that great. Now, I rue that I wasted all those resources.
Also, I suggest that there be a separate query section in the site. This will enable us to seek your opinion on issues unrelated to the current post.
I seek your advice on another issue. Which building do I convert into HA? I don’t really wish to sacrifice a farm & at the same time would like to have 1 forge available at all times.
Await your advice. Thanks in advance!
